Grass Fed Bison - Free Range

Our source for Bison (Buffalo) comes from local ranches in less than 100 miles from our store here in Victor NY. They graze free on pasture. No antibiotics or hormones, grass finished. Bison meat is similar to grass fed beef and is cooked much the same way. Bison is low in fat, calories and cholesterol, high in protein, vitamins and minerals. Fresh cut bison meat tends to be darker red and richer in color than many other meats. Grass-fed animals have been shown to be higher in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids than grain-fed finished livestock. CLA is also an essential fatty acid found primarily in grass-fed animals. Meat and dairy products from grass-fed ruminants are the richest known source of another type of good fat called "conjugated linoleic acid" or CLA. Some studies have also shown that grass-fed bison contain up to 4 times more selenium than grain-fed bison. Selenium is a trace mineral that is essential to good health. Bison are naturally healthy and hearty animals.

Comparisons to other meat sources have also shown that Bison has a greater concentration of iron as well as some of the essential fatty acids necessary for Human well being.
